Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra Delayed to 2026

  • Marvel 1943 Marches Into 2026 After Development Delay

  • Developed by Skydance New Media and published by Plaion, the game draws narrative inspiration from the 2010 limited comic series Captain America / Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers. Set against the backdrop of World War II in Occupied Paris, the story centers on an unlikely partnership between Steve Rogers (Captain America) and Azzuri (the Black Panther of that era), as they work together to stop the emergence of the Hydra organization.

Players will experience the game through a multi-character perspective, taking control of Captain America, Azzuri, Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos, and Nanali, the head of Wakanda’s spy network.

The delay was confirmed by the Skydance New Media with the following statement:

We have an important update: Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will now be launching in early 2026.
Taking this additional time will allow us to add more polish, and make sure we give you the best possible experience, and one that lives up to our vision.
We have some exciting things in store and look forward to sharing more soon!”

The trailer has been published on Epic Games’ State of Unreal presentation during GDC 2024. Since then it has significant attention of the Marvel fans. We also should not neglect the effect of having two of the coolest characters of Marvel Universe in the game.
