FromSoftware and Bandai Namco have dropped the official launch trailer for Elden Ring: Nightreign, a fresh take on the Elden Ring universe. Scheduled to release on May 30, 2025, the title will be available on PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Unlike its predecessor, Nightreign introduces a survival-based roguelike formula where players must cooperate to survive across a three-day in-game cycle. As the day progresses, the playable area tightens, leading to climactic boss battles at the end of each day.
Players can choose from eight character classes, each offering distinct skills and playstyles. These range from heavy-armored tanks that absorb damage to agile spellcasters that strike from a distance. Class synergy will be key to survival, encouraging players to build complementary team compositions. Items, upgrades, and environments reset with each new run, promising high replayability. The tension of permanent death and the need for strategic teamwork push Nightreign closer to the hardcore survival genre.
Elden Ring: Nightreign isn’t just a spinoff—it’s a bold experiment in cooperative gameplay within a beloved universe. FromSoftware blends familiar lore with fresh mechanics, offering fans a nostalgic yet innovative experience.
