Capcom has officially revealed Resident Evil: Requiem, the next chapter in its long-running survival-horror series. Set to launch on February 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, the game was unveiled at Summer Game Fest 2025 with a cinematic trailer and chilling story details that immediately caught fans’ attention.
Requiem introduces a brand-new protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent sent deep into the ruins of Raccoon City, now a desolate nuclear crater. Grace’s investigation ties back to her mother’s mysterious death and unearths the horrifying remnants of Umbrella’s legacy. The game’s world blends iconic locations with brand-new settings like overgrown forests, ancient temples, and hidden underground labs—offering a mix of open exploration and claustrophobic terror.
Gameplay returns to a familiar first-person survival-horror format, with enhanced enemy AI, stealth options, crafting systems, and classic features like typewriter saves and inventory management. While Capcom hasn’t confirmed it, leaks suggest the possibility of optional third-person segments or dual protagonists—including rumored appearances from fan favorites Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine.
Enemies are more dangerous and unpredictable than ever, with mutated cult-like zombies and terrifying stalker creatures—including a mysterious figure nicknamed “Goatman.” There are also hints of the return of Lisa Trevor, adding to the game’s connection to earlier titles and deep Resident Evil lore.
With its mix of psychological horror, upgraded survival mechanics, and a haunting return to Raccoon City, Resident Evil: Requiem is shaping up to be a standout entry in the franchise—and one of 2026’s most anticipated horror releases.
