Metal Gear Solid Delta Introduces New Stealth Multiplayer Mode ‘Fox Hunt’

Konami has officially unveiled a brand-new multiplayer experience for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater—an online battle mode titled “Fox Hunt.” Unlike the traditional Metal Gear Online formats seen in past entries, Fox Hunt is not a typical deathmatch or team shooter. Instead, it takes a bold, stealth-first approach that fully embraces the essence of the Metal Gear franchise.

Fox Hunt is best described as a tactical, hide-and-seek style multiplayer mode, where players rely on camouflage, environment blending, and stealth tactics to either evade or track one another. Rather than fast-paced gunfights, this mode focuses on tension, survival, and outsmarting opponents. Players can use the surroundings to their advantage—hugging walls, disappearing into grass or shadows, and using tools to remain undetected. It encourages slower, more strategic gameplay and rewards those who think like a spy rather than a soldier.

This isn’t a revival of Metal Gear Online but a completely fresh concept tailored to modern multiplayer expectations while still feeling deeply rooted in the franchise’s DNA. Fox Hunt captures the cat-and-mouse thrill that defines Metal Gear—players aren’t just battling, they’re stalking or being stalked.

Announced during Konami’s “Press Start” event and featured in the latest trailer, Fox Hunt stands out as a unique addition to the remake. It reinforces Konami’s intent to blend nostalgia with innovation, offering long-time fans a multiplayer mode that feels authentically Metal Gear, while introducing new players to a more strategic, cerebral kind of online experience.
