Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2 Development Confirmed

Producer Noriaki Okamura Assures Progress Amid Fan Expectations

At Tokyo Game Show’s “Metal Gear Production Hotline,” Konami finally provided an update on the long-anticipated Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2. Series producer Noriaki Okamura confirmed that development is moving forward, addressing fan speculation following the release of Vol. 1.

Okamura acknowledged that naming the first compilation “Vol. 1” naturally created expectations for a second volume. He assured fans that Vol. 2 is “progressing properly” and emphasized that lessons learned from the technical issues of Vol. 1are being applied to ensure a smoother launch this time around.

While the exact lineup of games has not been confirmed, fan discussions heavily focus on two highly requested titles: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Bringing MGS4 to modern platforms would be particularly significant, as the game has remained locked to the PlayStation 3 since its original release.

The collection is being developed alongside Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, showing Konami’s broader commitment to reviving the series for both veteran fans and new players. No release window has been announced yet, but the reassurance of steady progress is enough to keep anticipation alive.

This update highlights Konami’s cautious approach. Instead of rushing, the company appears intent on delivering a polished product that avoids the missteps of Vol. 1. For fans, the hope is clear: a definitive collection that finally makes the full Metal Gear saga accessible on modern hardware.
