Cairn Delayed to Q1 2026 for Final Polish

Survival Climbing Adventure Pushed Back for Optimization and Testing

The Game Bakers has announced that its upcoming survival climbing adventure, Cairn, will no longer release on its original date of November 5, 2025. Instead, the game is now scheduled to launch in the first quarter of 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC (Steam).

According to game director Emeric Thoa, the core content of Cairn is already complete. The delay will give the team additional time for bug fixes, optimization, and overall polish, ensuring the final product meets both developer and player expectations. Thoa emphasized that after more than five years of development, rushing the release would not make sense. Extensive playtesting and community feedback highlighted areas where improvements were still needed.

To keep players engaged during the wait, the demo will receive a “Ghost” update on October 13, 2025. This feature allows players to see the climbing runs of other players as ghostly figures, adding a competitive and social layer to the demo experience. The demo has already been played by over 600,000 users, showing strong early interest.

While delays can be disappointing, this move signals The Game Bakers’ commitment to delivering a high-quality experience. By prioritizing stability and refinement, Cairn is positioning itself to stand out as one of the most unique survival adventure titles of 2026.
