Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake Rumored for Late 2025

Ubisoft may be preparing to revive one of its most beloved entries in the Assassin’s Creed franchise—Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. According to new rumors circulating online, a full remake of the pirate-themed action-adventure game is reportedly in development, with a potential release date as early as November 2025.

The remake is expected to be far more than just a visual overhaul. Sources suggest it will be rebuilt on the Anvil Engine, the same engine powering many titles across the Assassin’s Creed series. In addition to modern graphical fidelity, the remake may include updated combat mechanics, refined wildlife behavior, and improvements to other core gameplay systems, bringing it in line with recent open-world advancements.

While Ubisoft has not officially confirmed the project, speculation has gained traction following subtle teases and insider reports. The original Black Flag, released in 2013, remains a fan favorite for its rich naval exploration, engaging story, and the unforgettable character of Edward Kenway.

If the rumors are true, this could mark a major return to form for the franchise’s golden age of piracy—and a nostalgic, yet modern, experience for both returning fans and new players alike.
