Capcom Unveils New Gameplay Details for Pragmata

Capcom has finally revealed deeper gameplay insights for Pragmata, showing how shooting, hacking, and eerie exploration come together on the Moon. This is the most substantial update yet, giving us a sense of how the game actually plays.

Hacking and Shooting as a Unified Combat System

The player controls Hugh, a man in a high-tech suit loaded with firearms, while Diana, a young companion, takes over hacking duties. Together, they navigate a lunar research base swarming with hostile bots. These aren’t pushovers. Most enemies wear heavy armor, and you can’t damage them with regular attacks. To disable their defenses, you must complete a hacking minigame. You trace a line from a start point to a green node using a cursor. It’s a fast and focused puzzle that gives you a limited window to hit the enemy’s weak spot.

During the hack, you’ll see blue nodes along the path. These are optional but give bonuses. They can increase how long the enemy stays vulnerable and boost your damage. Choosing to pass through them adds risk, so players have to decide fast.

The Two-Person Combat Flow

Pragmata’s entire combat system is based on the synergy between Hugh and Diana. While you’re aiming and shooting, she’s hacking in the background. You don’t mash buttons to win. You make tactical calls and execute under pressure. It’s a refreshing loop where each moment counts.

Exploration Focuses on Function and Tension

You aren’t just moving from point A to point B. The station is massive, empty, and unsettling. Hugh can move quickly using the thrusters in his suit, which helps with vertical sections and navigating strange layouts. Diana plays a key role in unlocking routes and shutting down security systems. Together, you explore, solve light puzzles, and survive whatever the facility throws at you.

Launch is still slated for 2026, but Capcom says a demo will be playable at Gamescom 2025.
