KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS has announced a new collaboration between Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Yamato Transport, five years after their original 2020 partnership. While the announcement focuses on shared values of “connection” and “delivery,” it may hint at in-game content beyond just branding and merch.
Given Kojima’s history of real-world crossovers, players could see Yamato-branded gear, delivery vehicles, or even special missions inside the game. Side quests involving Yamato couriers or interactive delivery events could add a unique gameplay layer that ties into the franchise’s core themes.
A special campaign site is already live, featuring merchandise, bonus content, and a “Message Movie.” There may also be digital unlocks through real-world purchases or events.
This collaboration might also reflect deeper story elements—like the human side of logistics, or the social impact of delivery systems in a fractured world. And knowing Kojima, Yamato could be just the first of several brands integrated into Death Stranding 2’s connected universe.
With the game launching in 2025, this is likely only the beginning of what Kojima has planned.
