Toby Fox has confirmed that Deltarune Chapters 1–4 will release digitally worldwide on June 4, ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2’s official launch on June 5 in Japan. Although it’s positioned as a launch title for Nintendo’s next-gen console, the game will release across Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC at the same time, tied to midnight JST (Japan Standard Time).
That means players in the U.S. can access Deltarune starting at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET on June 4, while European players will get it in the early evening. Asia will follow later that night, and select regions like Australia and New Zealand may technically gain access even earlier due to their time zones—though Toby Fox cheekily asked those fans to avoid sharing spoilers.
“For convenience’s sake, we’re just going to ignore you guys and pretend the game is not out… Don’t say anything about it please,” the newsletter joked.
Cross-Gen Purchase and Save Transfers Confirmed
Fox also revealed that Deltarune will support cross-generation purchasing. If you buy the game on PS4, you get the PS5 version, and the same goes for Switch and Switch 2, with no additional cost. Save data will also carry over between platforms, ensuring players won’t lose progress when upgrading hardware.
