Dune: Awakening, Funcom’s ambitious survival MMO set on Arrakis, has entered a new phase of beta testing—and this time, it’s open to more players than ever. After initially limiting access to random key recipients, Funcom quickly reversed course and is now allowing anyone who pre-orders the game to join the beta, which runs until Monday, May 12.

The update came less than eight hours after the beta went live. While some early access time was missed, the expanded invite gives pre-order players a chance to dive into the open-world sandbox of Arrakis, test survival mechanics, and explore the spice-fueled chaos.
This weekend’s test is not under NDA, meaning players are free to stream, share gameplay, and discuss openly.
