Warner Bros. Games and TT Games have announced LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, an open-world action-adventure title launching in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store).
A Celebration of Batman’s Legacy
TT Games describes the project as a tribute to “all eras of Batman.” Players will experience Bruce Wayne’s evolution from his League of Shadows training to his transformation into Gotham’s protector. This narrative direction suggests the game is aiming for more emotional depth than typical LEGO adaptations, giving fans a fresh perspective on Bruce Wayne’s journey. Along the way, allies like Jim Gordon, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul join the story, while iconic villains—Joker, Penguin, Poison Ivy, Ra’s al Ghul, Bane, and more—bring chaos to LEGO Gotham.
Revamped Combat & Gadgets
Combat has been rebuilt for fluid combos, counters, and cinematic takedowns, which shows TT Games is listening to long-time fans who wanted more engaging systems. Batman’s arsenal includes gadgets such as Batarangs and the Batclaw, while supporting characters add unique tools—Gordon’s foam sprayer, Robin’s line launcher, and Catwoman’s whip. The inclusion of two new difficulty modes, Caped Crusader Enhanced and Dark Knight, underlines the developers’ intention to appeal not only to families but also to seasoned players craving challenge.
Explore LEGO Gotham
Players can grapple, glide, or drive across an open-world Gotham City filled with crimes, puzzles, and secrets. Vehicles include Batmobiles, Batcycles, and gliders. The customizable Batcave serves as a hub, showcasing collected trophies, vehicles, and Batsuits. By blending LEGO humor with ambitious open-world design, the game positions itself as TT Games’ boldest step yet. If delivered successfully, it could become the definitive LEGO Batman experience—balancing playful accessibility with a faithful celebration of the Dark Knight’s mythos.
