After years of waiting, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond finally has a release date. Nintendo confirmed during today’s showcase that the game will launch on December 4, 2025 for both Switch and Switch 2.
Open World Confirmed

The biggest surprise from the new trailer is confirmation that Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is open world. For the first time in the series, players won’t be confined to segmented regions but will instead explore a vast, interconnected landscape. To traverse this larger world, Samus will rely on a brand-new vehicle.
Meet Vi-O-La

Samus’ new motorbike, named Vi-O-La, plays a major role in exploration. The gameplay footage showed her riding across terrain, reaching previously inaccessible locations, and blasting enemies who try to block her path. Vi-O-La looks to be a central mechanic, giving Beyond a faster and more dynamic traversal system than past entries.
The New Suit

The trailer focused entirely on the red suit that debuted in the earlier reveal.
Amiibo Lineup

Nintendo also announced three new amiibo figures to accompany the release:
Samus (November 6, 2025)
Samus & Vi-O-La (November 6, 2025)
Sylux (December 4, 2025, alongside the game)
