Nintendo’s indie lineup is seriously stacked heading into late 2025 and beyond, with a wide variety of creative, cozy, and genre-blending games on the way for both the Switch and the upcoming Switch 2.

One of the standout indies on the horizon is Hela, an open-world puzzle-adventure from Windup Games. You play as a loyal mouse familiar exploring a gorgeous, Scandinavian-inspired world filled with physics-based puzzles, platforming, gliding, and even a co-op football minigame. With a dreamy, storybook art style and Breath of the Wild vibes, Hela is set to release in 2026 on PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Yes, it’s really happening. Team Cherry’s long-awaited sequel to Hollow Knight is finally aiming for release on December 24, 2025. In Silksong, you play as Hornet, taking on over 165 new enemies, unlocking powerful new tools, and exploring a massive world full of secrets. It expands on everything that made the original special and will be available on all platforms, including the Nintendo Switch.
Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo
Launched on May 28, 2025, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo brings retro GBA energy back to life. Developed by Pocket Trap, this charming top-down action-adventure features tight controls, colorful pixel art, and a quirky story. It’s out now on Nintendo Switch and other platforms, and it even comes with a cute plushie in its collector’s edition.
On Your Tail
This cozy mystery game is set in a sunny seaside Italian village where you play as a goat detective named Diana Caproni. You’ll solve local mysteries, chat with townsfolk, and soak in the relaxing vibes. Originally a PC title, On Your Tailreleased on March 13, 2025 as a timed exclusive on the Nintendo Switch.

Keep an eye out for the puzzle sim Discounty, the artsy narrative game The Berlin Apartment, the quirky walking sim Baby Steps, and Grave Seasons, a farming sim with slasher horror twists.
