Nintendo has confirmed the next big step for Nintendo Switch Online and its expansion offerings. On February 17, 2026, both Switch and Switch 2 will receive access to a new Virtual Boy library.
A Dedicated Accessory Required
The service will use a special Virtual Boy accessory designed to slot in your console. Nintendo didn’t share final details on pricing for the add-on yet, but it is required to play. This is the first time Nintendo has officially revisited the infamous Virtual Boy platform with proper re-releases.

This covers almost the full catalog of the original hardware, giving many players their first real chance to experience the games outside of emulation.
