Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is officially sprouting up this October, and it’s bringing way more than just upgraded visuals. This full HD remaster reimagines the beloved 2009 classic with modern widescreen support, smoother animations, and some extra features that longtime fans have been asking for.
You’ll get the full original campaign, now polished for today’s systems, plus brand-new challenge modes like Cloudy Day, where sunlight is scarce, and Rest In Peace, a hardcore permadeath mode that resets your run if you fail. Fan-favorite minigames like Wall-Nut Bowling are back too—this time with a clean, HD look.
One of the biggest additions is local multiplayer. You can now team up in co-op to defend your lawn or go head-to-head in local PvP, where one player controls the zombies. There’s no online multiplayer, which is a bit of a letdown in 2025, but local couch play still sounds like a blast.
Another cool feature is the new in-game art gallery, which includes concept art and early designs from the game’s development. Some of the original artists weren’t contacted about it, which caused a bit of controversy online—but the content itself is a fun dive into PvZ history. If you pre-order, you’ll also unlock a retro 8-bit Peashooter skin as a bonus.
Replanted launches October 23, 2025, on PC (Steam, Epic, EA App), Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series X|S. Priced at around $20, it’s a budget-friendly way to jump back into the lawn defense action—with a few fresh twists thrown in.
