The trailer blends real-time gameplay and cinematic cutscenes, with Rockstar stating there was no pre-rendering, no Rockstar Editor, and no outside enhancements—just raw next-gen footage running on console hardware.
Fans initially doubted the visuals, calling them “too polished” for PS5. But detailed analysis of scenes like Lucia’s shootout and Jason’s store brawl reveal clear gameplay elements and dynamic camera work.
Many are now calling GTA 6 a spiritual successor to Red Dead Redemption 2, praising its tone, animation fidelity, and technical ambition. Even more impressive—the game is still a year out, launching May 26, 2026.
In a landscape crowded with misleading trailers, Rockstar’s transparency stands out, confidently showing what’s possible on current-gen hardware.
