Signs Point to Call of Duty Arriving on Switch Soon

When Microsoft was seeking approval for its Activision Blizzard acquisition, one of its biggest commitments was bringing Call of Duty to Nintendo platforms with simultaneous releases and full feature parity. Since the deal was finalized, however, updates on that promise have been noticeably absent — until now.

According to Jez Cordon, Executive Editor at Windows Central, development on Call of Duty for Nintendo Switch is reportedly nearing completion, with a potential launch window just a few months away. While no specific title or technical details were shared, Cordon’s history of reliable industry reporting has sparked renewed attention around the franchise’s long-awaited Nintendo return.

Further evidence may be emerging from within Activision itself. Sledgehammer Games, a core Call of Duty studio that recently wrapped support work on Black Ops 7, appears to be redirecting efforts. The studio has posted a new job listing seeking a Senior Technical Artist with Nintendo Switch experience, a requirement that strongly suggests active development tied to Nintendo hardware.

While Microsoft and Activision have yet to make an official announcement, the combination of insider reporting and targeted hiring points to meaningful progress. If the reports prove accurate, Nintendo players may soon see Call of Dutyreturn to their platform for the first time in years — and Microsoft may finally begin delivering on one of its most closely watched promises.
