Syberia Remastered Announced

Classic Adventure Syberia Returns to Xbox, PC and PS with Full Remake

Publisher Microids, alongside developers Virtuallyz Gaming and Microids Studio Paris, has announced Syberia Remastered, a modern reimagining of the beloved 2002 point-and-click adventure game. Set to release in late 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, this remake aims to introduce a new generation to the captivating journey of Kate Walker.

Syberia Remastered follows the recent release of Amerzone: The Explorer’s Legacy, another remake of Sokal’s earlier work. These projects serve to honor Sokal’s artistic vision, introducing his storytelling to new audiences while preserving the essence that captivated players decades ago.

As the gaming community anticipates the release of Syberia Remastered, this modern revival promises to deliver a nostalgic yet fresh experience, inviting players to embark once again on an unforgettable journey through a world of wonder and discovery.

Syberia Remastered is not just a visual upgrade; it offers a comprehensive overhaul to enhance the gaming experience:

  • Enhanced Visuals: The game boasts a significant visual overhaul, breathing new life into its iconic locations and characters.

  • Modernized Gameplay: Gameplay mechanics have been refined to meet contemporary standards, ensuring smoother navigation and interaction.

  • Preserved Storytelling: While the visuals and gameplay have been updated, the remaster stays true to the original narrative, maintaining the captivating storytelling that made the game a classic.

These enhancements aim to provide both longtime fans and newcomers with a refreshed yet faithful rendition of the original adventure.

Originally crafted by the late Belgian artist Benoît Sokal, Syberia follows American lawyer Kate Walker as she navigates a surreal journey across Europe and Russia. Tasked with finalizing a corporate acquisition, Kate becomes entangled in the enigmatic quest of Hans Voralberg, a genius inventor seeking the mythical island of Syberia, home to the last living mammoths. Accompanied by the endearing automaton Oscar, players explore richly detailed environments and encounter a cast of eccentric characters.
