Nightdive Studios has announced that the console versions of System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster will launch on July 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game is already available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and Humble Store.
Originally intended to launch simultaneously across platforms, the console release was delayed at the last minute. Now, fans on all major platforms can finally dive into this enhanced version of the 1999 sci-fi horror classic.
The remaster is built using Nightdive’s KEX Engine and features modernized visuals, up to 4K resolution at 120 FPS, and full gamepad support. Beyond the upgraded visuals, players can expect a significantly more stable experience, with many legacy bugs squashed and performance optimized across the board.
Co-op multiplayer has also received some attention, now upgraded for a smoother experience, and the PC version supports full mod integration and fan-made content from day one.
Set decades after the first System Shock, players wake aboard the Von Braun space vessel—an eerie, AI-haunted ship crawling with SHODAN’s creations. You’ll need to upgrade your cybernetically enhanced soldier, gather weapons, and harness psionic powers to stand a chance.
