Warhammer 40K Fans Push Back—and Get Refunds, Discounts, and Fixes

The launch of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition didn’t go exactly as planned. Fans were pretty upset about the price tag and underwhelming updates, especially when the “upgraded” version didn’t feel like much of a leap. Bugs, outdated visuals, and lack of real improvements had players dropping “Mostly Negative” reviews on Steam fast.

In response, the devs are doing the right thing. They’re now offering full Steam refunds until July 10, 2025—no questions asked, even if you’ve already played a chunk of the game. That’s a rare move, and it’s definitely appreciated.

If you already own the Anniversary Edition, there’s now a 50% discount available to upgrade to the Master Crafted version until that same July 10 deadline. But heads-up: if you bought the new edition at full price, you’ll need to refund it first, then re-buy it with the discount applied.

They’re also promising some much-needed patches. Fixes are coming for co-op issues, HUD and UI improvements, better Steam Deck support, and some new language localizations to round things out.

All in all, the launch was rocky, but the devs are trying to make good. If you were holding off, now might be the time to upgrade—or at least keep an eye on those updates.
